Rev. Frank Roosevelt Gordon, 88 of Malvern, PA passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. He was born on January 23, 1918 in Hague, Virginia to the late John and Maria Gordon. He was married to Evelyn Crabb Gordon.

He was raised and educated in Wilmington, Delaware, graduating from Howard High School with the class of 1935. He later attended Lincoln University, graduating in 1939, and then graduated in 1942 from the Seminary at Lincoln University with a master in Divinity.

Following his graduation he pastored many churches across the country including, Shiloh Presbyterian Church in Knoxville, TN from 1952-1975; served as interim pastor at the Germantown Community Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia; and served as a moderator of session and served as a interim pastor at the Yeadon Presbyterian Church for the past 2 years. He held many positions of the Presbyteries, Synods and the General Assembly.

Rev. Gordon was a former member of the Masons and the Elks. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc. Philadelphia Alumni Chapter, for almost 70 years. He pledged Epsilon at Lincoln University in 1937 and while in Knoxville, TN, he served as Past Polemarch of Knoxville Alumni. In addition he previously held many Provencal offices in the South Central Provence, and was currently Chaplain at Philadelphia Alumni Chapter. He has been the Recipient of many Achievement Awards from the several Kappa Alpha Psi Chapters, along with service awards from the National Office.

Rev. Gordon was a member of the NAACP and while in Knoxville, TN, he was president of the state NAACP and served as a chairman of the education committee of Knoxville, TN, where he helped integrate all 95 counties of the school system in Tennessee.

Rev. Gordon was a Charter member of the Pan-Hellenic Assembly of Chester County and served on the Zoning Board of East Whiteland Township for 17 years.

As a young man Rev. Gordon enjoyed playing tennis and softball, and served as an official for basketball and football. Following his retirement he enjoyed fishing and caning chairs, which he taught in Philadelphia.

Rev. Gordon is survived by his wife of 61 years, Evelyn Crabb Gordon of Malvern, a daughter, Sandra Hamilton, wife of Samuel C. Hamilton of Manchester, CT; one son, Lee David Gordon, husband of Teko, of Honolulu, Hawaii; two granddaughters and one great grandson.

He was preceded in death by two grandsons.
